TRAVEL DIARIES: My Cuba Trip Recap Day 1 – Day 3

As I informed you guys in my last post “10 Things You Need To Know Before Visiting Cuba” this was my first spontaneous trip. I stumbled across a $92 roundtrip plane ticket to Cuba, and I just couldn’t pass up that deal. I immediately booked my tickets and thought about everything else later. I didn’t know too much about Cuba except the common political stuff. Shortly after booking my ticket I found out that another blogger buddy and her blogger friends were also off to Cuba the same dates so of course, I asked if I could tag along.

A couple of weeks before my departure I was informed by my blogger buddy that she wouldn’t be able to attend the Cuba trip, but the other girls were still going. I totally understood why she couldn’t attend, but I have to admit that I was a little scared because I didn’t know the other girls that I would be meeting over in Cuba. All I knew were their blog names and social handles. I thought long and hard about canceling my trip due to me not knowing the other girls; I’m glad I didn’t. I was so nervous when meeting Dinah and Chinny over in Cuba, come to find out they love taking pictures as much as I do. Let’s just say I think I’ve found some new travel buddies.

I met Dinah and Chinny over in Cuba; they arrived two days prior. We met up at our Airbnb; our host Sol was super sweet. Dinah and Chinny planned out our whole weekend, even connected with a local who arranged our vintage car city tour and a road trip to Viñales (all regular tours were booked for three months). The experience was incredible. Now, I might be planning to look into various vintage cars and see if I can afford one. Perhaps, I may contact a dealer (similar to Grays) to learn more about the prices, various brands, etc.

Anyway, back to describing my experience in Cuba. I really enjoyed myself a lot there and every day was memorable and fun.

Day 1

Day one in Cuba was everything; it went a little something like this.

First, we checked out the famous La Guarida for lunch; the food wasn’t all that I hoped it would be. But this place was picture worthy, make sure you go all the way to the top of the building to get a fantastic view of central Havana.

Vintage Car City Tour

I highly suggest taking a classic car city tour around Havana; you’ll get a nice little Cuba history lesson. Tour is perfect for pictures.

Day 2

We had to get up extra early for a Road-trip to Viñales (2 hours from Havana). My favorite part of the tour was visiting the tabbacoo farm, I just had to smoke my first cigar while I was in Cuba.

Indian Cave

Sugar Cane Juice

Shopping a market in Viñales

Day 3

How could I travel to Cuba and not check out the Beach. The beach is my happy place. I was super excited to head to Santa Maria Beach which was only 20 mins from Havana. We ended our day with a trip to Almacenes San Jose Market to shop for paintings and beautiful hand crafted items.
