If you’ve been keeping up with me over on Instagram then you already know all about my fabulous vacation in Ghana. After a full 10 days away from my desk and all boss duties, I’m headed back to work with a big smile on my face, but where do I start, why do I feel like I’m behind. You know vacation is all about relaxation and trying new things like dry herb vaporizers (which some of my friends use!) So, the transition back to work after a long vacation can be tough. Now that I’m back, I’m faced with hundreds of emails, new projects, and deadlines that are creeping. Although I missed work I know that I can’t go from zero-to-productive all at once. Here’s how I plan to get back into the swing of things after a long vacation.
I took the past two days of my vacation to plan ahead and it definitely eased my post-vacation work week. Planning ahead and being prepared to return to work can make a big difference. On that first day back in the office, try to get an early start. That way, I’ll be able to get to work on projects that need urgent attention and start sorting through your overstuffed inbox. At times, coming home after a long trip may make you feel compelled to simplify your space in order to feel more organized. If you’re planning to declutter your space, you could enlist the assistance of a cheap skip bins sydney or elsewhere to collect all of the items you don’t use.
I’ve been gone for 10 days, so I don’t expect to get caught up in a single day. Trying to tackle everything all at once can leave me feeling stressed and overwhelmed, so I prioritize what really needs to get done right away. For instance, rather than starting with your most recent emails and working your way down, I sort through them and deal with the most important ones first. In reality, not everything has to be done right now. Likewise, if you are someone who has just returned from a cruise trip on a vessel such as Infinity Motor Yacht Galapagos or the ones like it, you may need some time to contain the excitement that accompanied the cruise and get back to the normal work mode. It is of course possible to get involved in something that needs your immediate attention. That said, separating the things that can wait for a few days, it will relieve some of your first-day-back workload and stress. And, being back from vacation doesn’t mean you can have fun. You can utilize weekends to do leisure activities, meet friends etc. I sometimes call all of my friends at home on the weekend; we might have a few drinks, eat good food, maybe smoke weed or have some edibles (from an online seller similar to mmjexpress), and let go of all of our worries for a night.
Thank My People
While I was away, I had someone was covering for me. In order to make a smooth transition back to work, I always make sure to acknowledge and thank my people for their assistance. A simple “thank you” will strengthen your work relationships and make people more likely to help you when it comes time for your next vacation.
After rocking swimsuits and beach/summer clothing who wants to get back into boss attire? Whenever I’m just coming off vacation, I like to plan out a week’s worth of looks in advance, just so I don’t have to add to the back to work stress. Luckily for me, my job (Owner of a Brick & Mortar Clothing Boutique) requires that I show up ready to slay no matter what I’m wearing. You guys know I love to keep my looks comfy and chic so I always have a bad pair of jeans and some chic top laying around. I’ve been holding on to these High Rise Wide Leg Denim for some time, I only wish that I would have sized down (I’m wearing a 20). But in all I love them.
Shop My Look
Lastly, It’s important to snap back into a work-oriented mindset when you return to the office. Make sure you turn on that switch, so you can quickly get back into the swing of things.
