#photodump - I spent all of July resting and healing…I’m so happy that cyst is out of me, my body feels 10x’s better. So many of you y’all shared your #ovariancyst stories with me and there is one thing we all now know ➡️ the importance of advocating for yourself. Thanks for all the well wishes (see previous post for full story) -Here’s to a great August. Mine will be a pretty eventful month especially since I have a Leo daughter ♌️ why are Leo’s so extra when it comes to their birthday 🙃Photos:

If it’s one thing about my life it’s definitely full of testimonies. I’m blessed to be around to share another one with you guys. I recently had a 13lb Ovarian Cyst (30cm) removed it- the size of a watermelon. Here’s my story: My first sign of pain was back in Dec 2020, It was severe pelvic pain, 🤮 & a semi hard stomach . I brushed it off thinking I ate something that had my body reacting like this. My symptoms continued over the past 6 months. During that time I saw my PCP 3 times about the same pain again, each time I was brushed off. I finally went somewhere else to get checked, and they discovered a cyst growing from my ovaries. Also note ➡️My Stomach grew over time.This was definitely a scary experience just to know that I would have to surgery to have this removed & what other health conditions that this may bring. Im thankful that this cysts wasn’t cancerous and I’m now fully in good health. I did have to get one ovary removed & due to the size of cyst they hand to cut down my stomach vertical (another war wound 🤪) but I’m relieved that this now behind me. Now here’s a couple things that I learned from my experience:
-the importance of talking with your family about health conditions that may run in your family - this can help you get a jump on things.
-Stop the self diagnosing it can cause more harm than we expect.
-Always advocate for yourself /health and get everything documented in your charts.
-Any woman can get a Ovarian Cyst. Some pop up and disappear, some stay and grow. I now suggest that all women get and ultrasound at least once a year just to be safe. I truly hope this post gives you a push to advocate for yourself within the healthcare system. Demand the proper testing and make sure things are documented . To speed up my process I decided to pay for the proper testing so that I didn’t have wait for insurance approvals, I also wanted the freedom to go anywhere that had appointments available ASAP. S/O to my story family you’ve known about this a while & I truly appreciate the vulnerability that you guys have shown during this time by sharing their own personal story’s around this.Now go set up those GYNO Appointments 😉

Moment of truth 😬 I use to crack jokes about my Mommy and Grammy’s summer linen outfits😅 I said I’ll never rock them- I know I’m not the only one 🤪 Now look at me➡️ obsessed with linen pants 😩 I understand why they loved linen - linen is one of best fabrics you can wear in the scorching hot weather and it’s breathable . What’s one thing you missed about being outside ? I missed brunch / lunch dates. Today I got to get cute (dress @walmart) and went to catch up with a dear friend before I head back inside for while (my story family know what’s up- I’ll tell my in-feed people what’s up soon 😉). If someone asked me what I learned during the past pandemic , it would be the importance of saving. You guys remember not too long ago, I took up my personal financial hit with my fire accident. I learned so much from that life-changing event, especially the importance of having a financial plan and budgeting.Over that past couple months I’ve been exploring all of my savings and borrowing options over at @florida_credit_union .
